Soobatan in Talesh: The heaven of Iran

Diako Mardanbegi * – Soobatan is a village in the north of Iran 36 km far fram the city Talesh and in the at the height of 1950m.I took the cover photo above on our way to Soobatan where is known as the heaven of Iran. I like the colours and the clouds in the image and the horizon line between the caspian sea, the beach, and the sky.
We rented a SUV vehicle in Talesh and it took us about 2 hours to reach the village.

Once you get there you will see an old cottage. A strange atmosphere.

The fog was becoming more intense and we really didn’t want to miss the chance of a gorgeous panorama of the top. So we moved to the other side of the village where is called the baam-e-soobatan or in english the roof of the Soobatan.

The fog had not reached the other side. We were lucky!

Lovely people were sheepherding on the top.

There is a beautiful waterfall near to Soobatan called Varazan. After lunch we decided to go and visit the waterfall. It was about 30min far from the village and the time we arrived there the mountain was covered with fog. So we missed the panoramic view at 2000 meters above ground.
Anyway, we saw the waterfall but only when we got very close to it.
